Trimdon United Juniors FC Under 18’s
Match Report for Sunday 8th March 2009
Grangetown YCC ‘B’ V’s Trimdon United Juniors FC
Result: Grangetown 5 Trimdon 0
Trimdon Man of the Match: Ryan Johnson for a valiant goalkeeping performance which kept the score respectable.
In a match against the league leaders which was always going to be a test for Trimdon their cause was not helped when only ten men turned up for the match, one of whom was injured and only lasted 15 minutes.
Trimdon tried to make a match of it but were not able to overcome the two man deficit and quickly found themselves two goals down when their injured player, Mark Waller, who had offered to play in goal in order to allow them to start the game with ten men conceded two goals in rapid succession, largely due to his inability to move around his box. Mark was then withdrawn from the game to prevent further damage and Trimdon’s regular keeper Ryan Johnson reverted to his natural position.
Grangetown added a third before half time.
Half Time Score: Grangetown 3 Trimdon 0
The second half continued in the same manner with Trimdon trying to make a game of it with some excellent goal keeping by Ryan Johnson and desperate defending by the rest of the team.
An injury to striker Robert Hughes meant Trimdon played the last 30 minutes with 8 men on the field and Grangetown grabbed two more goals in this period.
