A cold and windy day saw both teams battling with the cobwebs of the Christmas period as they tried to get back into the routine of playing football.
The game was played in a good spirit with both teams playing some neat passing football and the referee being able to enjoy the game, without really being involved.
Trimdon eventually broke the deadlock when following a scramble in the Catterick box David Jackson dribbled through a melee of players and rounded the Catterick Keeper and slotted the ball home.
Catterick came back well and scored a good equaliser just before half time when they converted a good flowing move.
Half Time Score: Trimdon United Juniors 1 Catterick Garrison 1
The second half was again an evenly matched game with both teams creating some excellent chances with Trimdon center forward Matty Grimley having one cleared off the line by a Catterick defender and hitting the post with another before Trimdon winger Alan Cummings scored at the back post with a cross cum shot from the right wing which eluded the whole of the Catterick defence and keeper to sneak in.
Catterick again responded well and created a couple of chances of their own before equalising with the gaol of the game when one of their lads unleashed a wicked drive from about 25 yards which beat the Trimdon keeper.
Trimdon started to get on top and push for a winner and were eventually rewarded when a strong passing move saw Matty Grimley play Thomas Flint in between the Catterick centre backs and Thomas ran on strongly to convert the chance and win the game for Trimdon
