Keeper – Jack Cairns 1st half then Scott Waterson 2nd half.
Back 3 – Lanky Clarke/ Tom Lawson / Tom Barker
Midfield – Tom Summerbell, Shaun Swan, Luke Casson, Ryan Willis, Josh Anderson.
Attack – Sam Noble , Jack Fannan
Trimdon have had a poor spell, losing a few on the run and confidence seems to have been low recently. Barny beat us 4 –1 last time so can we turn it around??
Absolutely is the answer – Trimdon come out of the starting blocks like men on a mission and pepper the barny goal with shot after shot and everyone is up for the challenge and everyone is working for every ball.
A stunning strike from Lanky from 40 yards opens the scoring and another goal soon follows from Shaun to take us 2 up. Barny haven’t rolled over though and fight back with 2 break away goals to even the honours for half time.
Second half continues where the first left off with Trimdon attacking constantly and this pays off when Ryan gets in the box and powers a goal in. Sam has worked and chased every ball and gets his reward with a good goal soon after. No let up in the pressure is further rewarded with a peach of a goal from Josh who chips his man, rounds him and puts the ball away for a goal of the season contender. It’s a credit to Barny that they keep going and have a few decent efforts themselves. In one great drive through the middle their centre forward looks favourite to score but is scythed to the floor by Luke inside the box in what looked like an obvious penalty but luckily they had a man offside and the ref had blown already.
Over all a great team effort and every player gets a tick for Man of the match for this performance. If Trimdon play in this frame of mind they will win every game that’s left to play this season. Next game 21st all stars away and we know we can beat them ………keep it up lads.
