TRIMDON UNITED JUNIORS SEASON 2008/09

Trimdon U14 V Bishop 29/03/09

A quick return leg away to Bishop sees a much-improved performance from the Trimdon lads against a good Bishop side and we make it far more difficult for them this time. Squad size is a big factor – Bishop have a hatful on the sidelines and we bring only one sub. Possession is pretty even for most of the first half and it is a fair reflection on the game for them to go in 1 up at half time.

Time wears on and Bishop mount attack after attack in the second half and the pressure pays off for them as they score 4 more goals this half.  Only brave keeping and athletic stops from Jack Cairns prevents them from getting more.
Highlight of the game for Trimdon was a great goal from Jack Fannan but the scoreline overall was about right and it seems Bishop have made good progress this season and as I write they sit at top of the league.
MOM from their coach and from report goes to Jack Cairns.

Trimdon U14 V Darlington TSC

Keeper Tom Lawson
Back three – Caspar / Adam / Tom Barker
Midfield – Luke Casson / Ryan / Josh / Jack Cairns
Front – Sam with Shaun Swan sitting just behind him.

The squad dwindles to only 10 for this match against bottom of the league TSC and we already make it hard for ourselves.

The 10 lads fought bravely but TSC make good use of their 2 extra men as they always seem to have a man over and when they don’t their other best player (the ref) sees every decision go their way, missing high tackles, hand balls and blatant fouls – one of which sees the Trimdon keeper kicked into his own net with an outrageous foul David Blunkett could have seen. Everyone who turned up put everything in to no avail as they were run ragged. TSC were better than their league position shows and did pass the ball around pretty well but I'm sure a full strength squad from Trimdon would have beaten them.

MOM from their coach – Tom Summerbell (Caspar)
MOM from report goes to Josh who shaded it from Shaun Swan
