TRIMDON UNITED JUNIORS SEASON 2008/09
Billingham Town v Trimdon United U14
Trimdon away to Billy and from the kick off Jack Fannan tries his luck with a pop on goal but just wide. Billy are a big side with some powerful lads in the line up and this shows with a strong effort on goal from their No 15 on the left wing giving early signs of a tough match. Trimdon attack right back at them though and after good skill on the left between Ryan and Jack a strong shot from Tom Lawson is parried away by their keeper. Tom Summerbell next has a good effort saved and it’s end to end stuff as the billy lads drive right back at us with a good run on goal but Jack Cairns is off his line sharply and a brave save at the strikers feet is made. Nothing between the teams and more efforts on goal at both ends are snuffed out by the keepers – notable work from Tom Summerbell (Casper) up front, Josh in midfield and Lanky at the back in this half. 15 minutes in and Jack F is clattered in the box and the result is a penalty which Casper duly puts away 1 – 0 to Trimdon. 6 minutes later though and a great shot from the billy striker makes it 1 all. Trimdon pile on the pressure late in the second half with good efforts on goal from Jack and Josh but no cigar. 2 minutes into the second half and the billy forward drives another good goal into the net to go ahead. Minutes later they add a 3rd from good pressure and it seems we are slipping a little but the lads don’t let their heads drop and keep plugging away – this is rewarded when Casper picks up the ball in mid field , skips past a couple and scores his second goal 3 –2. Billy add 2 more this half to finish the game 5 – 2 but we had our chances and it could have been honours even if we had put them away. The score line didn’t reflect the even game and Trimdon can take heart from some great individual performances and a good team effort. MOM from their coach was Jack Cairns in goal MOM from report goes to Casper who has come back into the team recently and made a real difference.
No full report from game of 1st March against Acklam due to technical issues with recorder but it was an even game in terms of possession and the real difference between the teams was they took their chances in front of goal and we didn’t so they took all the points from a 3 – 0 win. MOM from their coach was Tom Lawson who did his usual graft. MOM from report was Adam Foston who apart from sidelining his own right winger with a massive swing of his size 11’s had a peach of a game, getting all over the pitch making strong tackles and he also had half a dozen efforts at goal.
