Trimdon United Juniors FC Under 13’s
Match Report for Sunday 22nd February 2009.
Nunthorpe Athletic V’s Trimdon United Juniors FC TJFA League
Result: Nunthorpe 3 V’s Trimdon 2
Trimdon Scorer: Nathan Hilder 2
Trimdon Man of the Match: Robbie Tinkler for a solid and skilful midfield display
Nunthorpe started the game strongly and deservedly took the lead with a good finish from their center forward after about 15 minutes of the game.
Trimdon were not playing well, but were being pushed forward by a driving performance from Robbie Tinkler in central midfield and so strong defending from Josh Brown, Kieran Thompson, Jack Gibson and Ryan Darby.
In fact it was Ryan Darby who came closest to scoring when he burst through the Nunthorpe defence only to see his shot crash against the cross bar.
Half Time Nunthorpe 1 V’s Trimdon 0
The second half saw a different Trimdon team emerge and they were soon level when an excellent through ball from James Bromley allowed Nathan Hilder to coolly round the Nunthorpe keeper and slot home from the left hand side of the goal.
Trimdon started to dominate the game and soon took the lead when a great pass from Robbie Tinkler allowed Nathan Hilder to repeat his earlier finish by again rounding the keeper before driving the ball home.
Nunthorpe however rallied and were denied an equaliser by a great save from James Johnson in the Trimdon goal. The respite however was short lived when Nunthorpe equalised with a controversial goal from one of their forwards who looked distinctly offside when the ball was played through to him; the player did however keep his cool well to finish despite the offside calls from the Trimdon team.
The Nunthorpe keeper then made two excellent saves to keep his team level before Nunthorpe won the game when a mix up in the Trimdon defence gifted their centre forward a goal in the last five minutes.
Final Score Nunthorpe 3 V’s Trimdon 2
