TRIMDON UNITED JUNIORS NEWSLETTER 17
30th March 2007

As we didn’t have a league match this week we played a friendly against Spraire Lads away at Darlington. With perfect weather conditions for football this had all the makings of a good battle and we weren’t disappointed.

Trimdon set of like a bullet and created many chances causing havoc for the Spraire defence, however nothing come together from these chances and with good goal keeping from the Spraire keeper the lads just couldn’t find the back of the net. When Spraire did make a challenge our defence was solid and never faltered. The first half, 0-0.

The second half started and we were soon to find our shooting boots in the form of Luke who stroked the ball home from a close range shot making the score 1-0. We continued pushing on and Luke not content with one goal went for number two in the form of a superb powerful volley to make it 2-0. Well done Luke! Never letting up on the Spraire defence, Ryan who was on top form capped his performance off with a cracking goal. Well done Ryan. To be fair Spraire Lads never gave up and after our third goal they came fighting back however what wasn’t dealt with in midfield was sorted out in defence and they just couldn’t get past us. The final score to a quality match 3-0.

This match was a good work out with everybody getting a run and the subs that came on made a difference to play. Yet again we proved to be a well organised side especially in defence with Captain Jack keeping good command. We now have a big squad of talented players and come next season we really will be a force to reckon with. Well done to you all and keep up the good work. Man of the match went to Ryan who played a corker. Well done Ryan!

Note to parents; we seem to have lost quite a lot of kit especially socks so could you please have a look at home and send back any kit found even old kit. The lads have all been issued new navy socks for our games so please make sure they turn up with them on for matches and that they do not get lost. Thank you for your cooperation it is much appreciated.
