TRIMDON UNITED JUNIORS NEWSLETTER 11 18th February 2007
A rearranged fixture on Saturday saw Trimdon Utd U12s against Bishop Auckland St Marys. With the final score 3 - 1 to Trimdon Utd this result kept us in the hunt for a top 2 finish
The game started off poorly for Trimdon as we didn’t look like we were at the races, but after 10 mins we finally got into our stride and took the lead against the run of play with some lovely passing football from one end of the pitch to the other. Luke Walton smashed home the first goal, then for the rest of the half it was all Trimdon, with more silky passing. Luke Walton smashed in the second goal, then with 10 mins of the first half remaining Sam Noble volleyed an unstoppable shot from 12 yards. Half time 3 - 0 The second half started brightly with both teams going for goal but if it had not been for Keiran Storey in goal, Bishop would have been back in the game - they did that 20 mins into the second half with some good passing and a good finish. 3 - 1 This seemed to spark Trimdon into attacking motion with Luke Walton, Ryan Willis and Sam Noble all going very close on several occasions. With 5 mins to go Bishop were awarded a penalty, and with their No 4 stepping up to take the penalty, Keiran Storey in goal was doing the best dudeck impression you have ever seen, and made the penalty taker miss with a howler.
