TRIMDON UNITED JUNIORS SEASON 2008/09 26th October 2008
Trimdon v Billingham Town
The match kicks off and immediately Trimdon attack in the form of Sam charging down on the Billingham keeper but he is brave and quick and gets down to the ball well. Luke follows in with a shot and then Ryan all within the first minute but no luck. Four minutes in and Billy are on the attack but great defensive work from Shaun denies them - he clears to Ryan and it is knocked on to Josh and he guides it through to Sam for another effort at goal - this time just missing. Billy Town forwards are looking sharp and only a great tackle from Tom halts a certain goal but this just delays the axe from falling for a couple of minutes when they drive through the defense and score a good goal. 1 - 0 . Two minutes later and a great effort from Billy is collected safely by Jack in goal and he makes another great save on 13 minutes to deny another sure goal. A free kick from Sam 30 yards looks goal bound but the keeper again just manages to save it. More great keeping from jack in goal on 15 minutes saves the Trimdon defenses blushes - he’s looking sharp between the sticks. 18 minutes in and Sam has another long range free kick just clear the bar, followed quickly by excellent work from Luke Walton who beats 2 and shoots but just misses. It all seems pretty even in possession but on 22 minutes they break again and this time they score another well executed goal to go 2 - 0 up. Trimdon answer quickly though with a great kick from Jack Cairns up to Sam who runs hard and fires past the keeper to pull one back. On 30 minutes we are back on level terms after a good corner from Sam is converted by Shaun to even the match which seems a fair result coming to the end of the half. The second half is a pretty dire affair from Trimdon - first the reporters batteries ran out then so did Trimdon’s ability to get the ball out of their own half and Billingham capitalized by scoring 4 more goals to end the game 6 - 2. Some shining lights from the Trimdon side in the form of Shaun who is getting to grips with the game, made some good tackles and scored a goal. Jack Cairns did well in goal and Louie didn’t let much past him today tackling very strongly all game. Big Adam looked sharp when he came on in the second half and maybe this lad deserves a longer run in the match to show what he can do. Tom Lawson got all over the pitch again as he always does. The opposition coach chose Sam as MOM. Reporters MOM also to Sam.
